This scale was even better than the one advertised because the one I received has the Stop and Lock feature, which allows just one person to lift the luggage up with the scale and then set it back down to look at how much it weighs. An older model I had purchased required two people to weigh a suitcase: one to lift it while another looked at the dial to see how much it weighed.
I actually bought 12 of these scales to give to family and friends who travel a lot and they love it! The only way to improve on this product would be to make it digital so we don't have to look at the tiny numbers on the dial. Still, it's a very useful item and packs away nicely when I travel.

1932 Product Review Great for making sure that your luggage isn't over the limit. But difficult to read by yourself, if you're not strong enough to lift 40-50 lbs. Accuracy was right on.

29, 2007 Title: Luggage Scale This scale is great. It folds up into a fairly compact size and gives an accurate reading. A pointer will remain at the reading after the load is removed. This allows you to check the gauge without struggling to view it while weighing a bag. You have to reset the pointer before the next use. Very handy for when you add souvenirs weight to your luggage before heading home.

Luggage
Scale
1932 Product Review Very accurate and very helpful for weighing luggage
before you get to the airport. Much better than standing on a scale with a suitcase, trying to see the number
and then subtracting your weight. Also better than paying airline excess weight fees

10, 2007 Title: Why Balance Your Luggage on a Bathroom Scale? This is a neat item. With the new weight limits imposed by airlines, you must know the weight of your bags before departing or it will cost you. This item is light enough that you can take it along on the trip. Everyone brings things back, take the scale and be safe on both ends of the trip.

01, 2007 Title: Cheaply constructed garbage It didn't even last a round trip to Europe before the black needle that's supposed to stay put after you put the suitcase down, so you can read the weight broke. So I guess if you want to make your wife lift the bag while you kneel down to read the scale, then it works perfectly.
