Luggage Online & American Flyer Donate Suitcases
to Hurricane Katrina Evacuees
Cherry Hill, NJ (PRWEB) September 14, 2005 -- In response to
the nation's recent natural disaster, Internet retailer
Luggage Online, along with American Flyer, donated 100 suitcases
to Hurricane Katrina evacuees today.
Thousands of people who were affected by the disaster are being
transported from location to location, and many are carrying
their personal possessions in garbage bags. "We knew we
wanted to help in some way and this idea actually came from
our customers. We received several emails last week suggesting
that we send suitcases to the evacuees," Tim Jacobsen,
VP of Ecommerce, said. "I read a news article about a guy
in Detroit who owns a Ramada Inn hotel. He opened the hotel
to hundreds of Katrina evacuees to give them a place to live
indefinitely. They need luggage, toiletries, blankets, school
supplies, toys, and other items, Jacobsen continued.
As a result, Luggage Online shipped 100 large American Flyer
wheeled duffle bags to the Detroit hotel this week.
