Luggage Online sales up 70% "Cyber Monday"
weekend
Cherry Hill, NJ (PRWEB) November 29, 2005 -- Luggage Online
kicked off the holiday season with a bang. Sales were up 70%
from Thanksgiving Thursday through "Cyber Monday." Traffic to
the site for the same time period was up 29%. "We are extremely
pleased with our sales this past weekend. Monday was the biggest
day in Luggage Online's history," said Tim Jacobsen, Vice
President of Ecommerce. "Cyber Monday's" sales were
up 50% from last year, with traffic up 26%.
Backed by a redesigned website, Luggage Online pushed early
holiday sales with a 10% off site-wide sale and closeout pricing
on several popular lines to produce the record numbers. However,
Cyber Monday's numbers are not expected to be their biggest
this year. Luggage Online expects to surpass those numbers several
times in the coming weeks. "Typically we peak around the
14th of December, although it may be later this year,"
said Jacobsen.
Luggage Online has been growing at a rate of 40% per year since
1998 and has seen even more of an increase since the launch
of their redesigned website in August. "Our newly designed
website is playing a big part in growing our business. Conversions
are up 27% over last year for the past week", said Jacobsen.
The new site, designed by Fry, Inc., features a redesigned layout,
improved navigation and search, an improved checkout process,
and new shopping tools to make it easier for customers to find
just the right product to suit their needs.
